What are Robots Actuators, and how it helps robot functions?
What is an Actuator?
An actuator is defined as a component of the robot which is responsible for the movement of the robot. It controls all the movement mechanism of a robot. An actuator is a machine or a motor which convert the energy into the form of motion in which it is used.It can make a robot to move or stop moving. In conclusion, we can say those robot actuators is actually a mover
Lets recap from previous posts, a robot is a machine which is specifically programmed by a computer. The robot is capable of doing a complex series of tasks automatically within seconds which are difficult for a human being.
Robots are divided into two types.

Function Of Actuators:-
As far as the actuator function concerns, its the muscle of the robot for the robot arms. Humans need their muscles to move, in the same way as the robot needs an actuator. Similarly, we need the energy to move in the same way actuator need energy function. Actuators get their energy from a power supply such as a 9V battery.
Since robots are actually the machine version of human beings, actuators are muscle version in robots.
Hydraulic actuators, energy is taken from a fuel motor which helps to do the mechanical operation in we get output in the form of rotatory oscillatory or linear motion.
Pneumatic actuator, energy is taken from the vacuum or a which is compressed at the high pressure and we get the output by mechanical operation in the form of linear or rotatory motion.
An electric actuator, the power is gained from the electrical energy which by the mechanical operation is converted into mechanical energy talk and we get the input by the multiple turning off the walls first.
Mechanical actuator, one form of the motion such as the motion is converted into the linear motion.
How does Robot Actuators work?
In order for an actuator to work, it must have an easy access to a control signal and an easy source of energy. A control signal is controlled by the brain (an example is a microcontroller). This control signal is a type of electrical voltage or current or maybe it is a hydraulic pressure or an air pressure in case of pneumatic robots. In case of hydraulic fluid When the control signal translate the power to the equator that activator instantly converts the energy of the control signal into the motion of the machine or the Robot.
So basically actuator is a mechanism translated to real life by the control system (brain of a robot). As far as a control system concern it can be any type of a software-based control system. For example, an Arduino sends current (control signal) to the connected linear actuator, causing it to rotate. Although it’s better to use relays between Arduino and linear actuators ( but we will discuss it in more details in later posts).
